What is Deal's Gap?

Deal's Gap is no big deal, it's just another of those saddles in a ridgeline. Like most of the roads that cross these, they go up the hill, cross at a low point and go down the other side. There's probably a few hundred 'gaps' in TN, NC, VA, WV, PA and other eastern states near the Appalacian Mts.

However, Deal's Gap is where the Ninja 250 guys have had the largest National and International (Hi, Wes) Ninja 250 riding events.

Look at a map; look at US 129 where it crosses between NC and TN. Note that in 11 miles, there is only 1 road that intersects this highway. There are NO driveways along this 11 miles and there really is only one other road. For a public road, it's a relatively controlled environment, there are no vehicles entering or leaving the highway, except from the shoulder.
